About Dr. Shah

Dr. Darshit Shah knew by the time he was in high school that orthodontics was his calling, and every step of his education since has been in pursuit of that goal. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He then completed his orthodontic residency and Master of Science in Dentistry at Saint Louis University, in the very city where Dr. Edward Angle, the father of modern orthodontics, founded the world's first orthodontic school.

Dr. Shah is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. His research on jaw growth and airway development has been published in peer-reviewed journals. He has also given back to his profession through years of volunteer leadership with the American Association of Orthodontists, serving on its Committee on Technology and has chaired the Council on New and Younger Members and most recently as a delegate to the association's House of Delegates, representing our great Republic of Texas. Dr. Shah is also a member of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists, widely regarded as the most prestigious and exclusive orthodontic society in the world.

Because Dr. Shah believes a great smile should work as well as it looks, his approach centers on a careful diagnosis, clear explanations, and treatment plans built around each patient's bite, facial balance, and personal goals. Whether he is guiding a child through early treatment, helping a teenager with braces or Invisalign, or working with an adult who has waited years for the smile they want, he takes the time to answer every question and set grounded expectations. Patients describe him as fun, detail oriented, and genuinely invested in their results.

Family brought Dr. Shah to Texas, and the Hill Country now truly feels like home. Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Pohlmann, friends, and family, going for hikes, hunting down a great cup of coffee, planning the next trip, and cheering on his soccer team, Manchester United!
